The Lighthouse

“The Lighthouse

The lighthouse is like the church of some island sect
Who have known the mainland beliefs and have defected
Only to retain them in native purity
And in the daily jubilation of storm and sea,
But adding every day new images
To their liturgy of changes – each one
Some myth over and done  with now
Because sea had rebegotten land and alnd
The sea, and all is waiting to declare
That things have never been praised for what they were, emerging
Along promontory on enfiladed promontory.”
